Hunter BOC-100 — 1-Station Wireless Valve Control Without Field Wire

The Hunter BOC-100 is the 1-station battery-operated field controller in the SkyCommand Wireless Control System. Mount it in a valve box, pair it to a site hub over license-free LoRa radio, and run a DC-latching solenoid with no 24 VAC cable home-run. Onboard program memory keeps the station on schedule even if the radio link drops. A gray-loop soil-moisture input accepts Hunter SC-PROBE so watering can stop when the root zone is already wet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hunter BOC-100 used for?
BOC-100 is a 1-station SkyCommand field controller for valves that have no AC power and no spare control wire. It sits in the valve box, talks to the site UCH over LoRa, and is programmed from Centralus.

Does BOC-100 need constant radio contact to water?
No. Hunter stores the irrigation program in the BOC. Schedules keep running if communication is interrupted. The radio is for programming, monitoring, and reporting.

What solenoid does the BOC-100 use?
Hunter DC-latching solenoid 458200, wired up to 100 feet from the controller. Do not use a standard 24 VAC solenoid.

Can I add soil moisture sensing to BOC-100?
Yes. Cut the gray loop and splice Hunter SC-PROBE with waterproof connectors. Centralus can skip irrigation when soil moisture is above the threshold you set.
