Superior 100 Series 2-1/2" Brass Normally Open Hydraulic Valve
The Superior 100250 is the 2-1/2" size of Superior’s
100 Series brass hydraulic in-line valve. It is a normally open
hydraulic valve — it stays open until a hydraulic command line closes it
— built in red brass for commercial and agricultural irrigation mains
that still run hydraulic control instead of 24 VAC solenoids.

How This Valve Works
Hydraulic tubing from a hydraulic controller or remote pressurizes the
bonnet to close the valve. When that command pressure is released, the
normally-open 100 Series returns to open and flow resumes. This is not an
electric 950 / ICV-style solenoid valve and it is not a Superior 3100 master
valve.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Superior 100250 an electric solenoid valve?
No. Superior 100250 is a brass hydraulic valve. It is controlled by
hydraulic tubing, not a 24 VAC solenoid. If you need an electric in-line
brass valve, look at Superior 950 Series instead.
What does normally open mean on the Superior 100 Series?
Normally open means the 2-1/2" 100250 stays open and passing water until
hydraulic command pressure closes it. That is the opposite of a typical
electric irrigation valve, which sits closed until the solenoid is energized.
What size is Superior 100250?
100250 is the 2-1/2" FIPT in-line body. Superior also makes the 100 Series in
3/4" (100075), 1" (100100), 1-1/4" (100125), 1-1/2"
(100150), 2" (100200), 2-1/2" (100250), and 3" (100300).
What pressure and flow does the 2-1/2" Superior 100 handle?
The 100 Series is rated 20 to 200 PSI. Series flow is 5 to 320 GPM; Superior
publishes 2-1/2" pressure-loss figures from 100–320 GPM (2.4–10.7 PSI).
