What Changed with the PS Ultra HE?

The original PS Ultra body required a separate nozzle to be selected and installed in the field. The new HE models ship with the Pro High-Efficiency nozzle pre-mounted at the factory, in your chosen radius (8′, 10′, 12′, 15′, or 17′). Select your pop-up height (2″, 4″, or 6″), grab your radius, and it’s ready to go into the ground.

For irrigation contractors, this eliminates a step on every head. On a large residential install with 40–100 heads, that adds up fast — and it ensures every nozzle is correctly matched to the specified radius without any field substitution errors.

Why High-Efficiency Nozzles Matter

Standard spray nozzles apply water at varying precipitation rates depending on arc and radius. This leads to uneven watering — some areas get too much, others not enough. Over time this drives up water bills, causes runoff, and results in callbacks from customers with dry edges or soggy corners.

Pro High-Efficiency Nozzles are engineered for matched precipitation: every arc setting (90°, 180°, 270°, 360°) delivers water at the same depth per hour — regardless of the arc selected. This means:

  • No dry spots at the edge of zones
  • No overwatering near the head at small arcs
  • Fewer customer callbacks
  • Compliance with increasingly strict water mandate regulations in many US states
  • Eligible for water agency rebates in qualifying zones

Available Pop-Up Heights and Radius Options

PS Ultra HE bodies are available in three pop-up heights and five radius options — 15 SKUs in total:

Pop-up HeightRadius Options
2 Inch8′, 10′, 12′, 15′, 17′
4 Inch8′, 10′, 12′, 15′, 17′
6 Inch8′, 10′, 12′, 15′, 17′

Compatible with Your Existing System

The PS Ultra HE is fully compatible with all Hunter female-thread nozzles, making it straightforward to retrofit into existing systems or mix with current heads. The ½” inlet fits standard lateral pipe fittings, and the two-piece ratcheting riser stays locked after installation.

The slim-line body profile means it fits in tight planting beds and narrow strips where standard-diameter heads won’t work without disturbing the surrounding plants.
