  • The controller sends a pulse lasting a few milliseconds to lift the solenoid plunger
  • A magnet fastened to the bottom of the latching solenoid assembly keeps the plunger in the raised position
  • To close the valve, the controller sends another pulse with reverse polarity
  • The DC latching solenoid will have one black wire for the common wire and one red wire for the station wire
