It turns a compatible ESP-TM2, ESP-ME3, ESP-Me, RZXe, or LXME2 controller into a cloud-connected smart controller on the Rain Bird app — weather-based run times, remote control, and alerts. Hydrawise is Hunter's equivalent platform. If the job is already Rain Bird valves and heads, LNK2 keeps the tech in one brand.

Does the Rain Bird app cost money?

LNK2WIFI is made for ESP-TM2, ESP-ME3, ESP-Me series (manufactured after November 2, 2016 with the LNK Ready mark), ESP-RZXe, LXME2, and LXIVM. It will not add Wi-Fi to older ESP-TM or ESP-Modular panels. RC2 already has Wi-Fi built in — you do not add LNK2 to an RC2.
