Question 1

Is Rain Bird LNK2 better than Hunter Hydrawise?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the as-built. Our Rain Bird vs Hunter brand comparison says Hunter Hydrawise wins residential smart control: Predictive Watering and contractor multi-site tools are more sophisticated than Rain Bird Weather Intelligence / LNK2. Stay Rain Bird when the valves and heads are already Rain Bird and you want the free Rain Bird app without swapping the clock. This storefront sells the LNK2 path. The long-form article stays on WordPress.

Question 2

Who should still buy Hydrawise instead of LNK2?

Accepted Answer

Buyers who want Predictive Watering, contractor dashboards, and one cloud across mixed Hunter jobs. Our published comparison names Hydrawise the residential-smart winner and Rain Bird the commercial/municipal winner (ESP-LXD / IQ4). IQ4 is not this shop.

Question 3

What warranty does Rain Bird publish versus Hunter?

Accepted Answer

The ranking comparison on this site states Rain Bird warranty varies by product (1–5 years) and Hunter varies by product (2–5 years). Confirm the current manufacturer page for the SKU you buy. This shop’s LNK2-path warranties are printed on each product page.

Question 4

Is ARC8 the same as RC2 or LNK2?

Accepted Answer

No. The WordPress article discusses ARC8 and ESP-ME3 plus LNK2 as Rain Bird’s residential smart options. This shop sells RC2 (built-in Wi-Fi, 8 zones), ESP-TM2 + LNK2, and ESP-ME3 + LNK2. Do not add LNK2 to an RC2.

Question 5

Does LNK2 cost less than Hydrawise?

Accepted Answer

We do not publish Hunter street prices on this page. Shop live Rain Bird kit prices on the product pages. The reason to stay Rain Bird is the existing as-built and the free Rain Bird app — not a price war we have not printed.

Question 6

How do I get WaterSense on Rain Bird?

Accepted Answer

ESP-TM2 or ESP-ME3 plus LNK2WIFI and a Rain Bird rain sensor (WR2-48 / SKU A554800 is the usual pair), with weather adjust enabled. RC2 is listed as a smart controller on its own — confirm your water district’s model list.
