Question 1

How far can the wireless signal reach?

Accepted Answer

The Rain-Clik transmitter has a range of up to 1,000 feet line-of-sight to the receiver. Walls, structures, and vegetation can reduce effective range. For best results, mount the transmitter with a clear path to the receiver location.

Question 2

How long does the transmitter battery last?

Accepted Answer

The included lithium battery typically lasts 3-5 years under normal operation. The receiver module is powered by 24VAC from your irrigation controller.

Question 3

Will the Rain-Clik work with non-Hunter controllers?

Accepted Answer

The receiver module connects to any controller with a rain sensor input (common/sensor terminals). While designed for Hunter controllers, it is compatible with most brands that accept normally closed sensor inputs.

Question 4

How quickly does it respond to rain?

Accepted Answer

Hunter's Quick Response technology detects rainfall within minutes. The hygroscopic disc expands rapidly when wet, triggering the shutoff signal. Dry-out reset time depends on weather conditions — typically a few hours of sun and wind.
