Question 1

How far does the ROAM-LR actually reach?

Accepted Answer

The ROAM-LR is rated for up to 1 mile (5,280 ft) line-of-sight. Actual range depends on terrain, vegetation, buildings, and atmospheric conditions. In most real-world commercial settings, you can expect 2,000–4,000 ft of reliable range.

Question 2

What does 'two-way communication' mean?

Accepted Answer

Two-way communication means the handheld remote sends commands to the controller AND receives confirmation and status data back. The LCD display shows you which zone is currently running, how long it has been running, and whether the controller received your command — so you know the system is responding.

Question 3

Can I use the ROAM-LR with residential controllers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The ROAM-LR receiver is compatible with all Hunter controllers, including residential models. However, it's primarily designed and priced for commercial and professional applications where long range is essential.
