Question 1

What pipe size does the HC-075-FLOW fit?

Accepted Answer

The HC-075-FLOW is designed for 3/4-inch irrigation mainlines with NPT threaded connections. It installs inline — you cut into the mainline and thread the flow sensor into the pipe using standard fittings.

Question 2

Do I need a flow sensor for Hydrawise to work?

Accepted Answer

No. A flow sensor is optional. Your Hydrawise controller works fully without one. However, adding a flow sensor enables leak detection, water usage reporting, and broken pipe alerts — features that can save significant water and prevent property damage.

Question 3

Can I add the flow sensor to an existing installation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can install the HC-075-FLOW at any time. It requires cutting into the mainline pipe to install inline, then running the sensor wire to your Hydrawise controller's flow input terminal.
